THE MOSQUE DOME ASSEMBLING IN AN ETHNOMATHEMATICAL PERSPECTIVE FOR A LEARNING APPROACH

Ethnomathematics is a mathematics learning approach with cultural media around students. Therefore we need the right in process to present that close student life so students have high motivation mathematics. This study aims determine of making mosque domes and ethnomathematics-based by modeling domes. uses qualitative research ethnographic methods. Respondents were dome makers, vault designers, company managers Seribu Kubah Co.Ltd. The main instrument researcher using observation, interview, documentation guidelines. results showed first, includes three steps, namely ordering dome, designing manufacturing components, assembling dome. Second, many mathematical concepts are contained including ellipses, circles, rectangles, triangles. Due application domes, can be used classroom learning, especially for resources geometry material. In-depth studies ethnomathematics applied certain communities bridge practiced society learned schools.
